Base Camp Express in Woburn- Merit Badge Programs

Any Scout can come to Base Camp Express and work on merit badges, including Eagle-required badges! One merit badge offered on Saturdays and Sundays.

$25 per Scout. 20% Adv. Card Discount. Please register, no walk-ins.

Depending on the badge, scouts can complete most or all of the requirements. Please bring blue cards signed by your Scoutmaster. If you use Scoutbook, it will make data input easier.

In collaboration with FEMA, the Spirit of Adventure Council and Daniel Webster Council is hosting the ReadyScout Merit Badge Event where Scouts will have the opportunity to earn several merit badges all focused on emergency readiness and public safety. ReadyScout will be held in two locations, New England Base Camp in Milton, MA and Granite Base Camp in Manchester, NH.

Merit Badge Instructors will be professionals from our partners for all courses. Scouts should arrive at 8:15am for check-in and bring a lunch. Lunch will be from 12pm - 1pm.

New England Base Camp in Milton- Open Program

Join us for our Saturday program! Work on Merit Badges! From 10:00am- 5:00pm the campground is open for exploring. Come and give archery a try and then head over to the axe yard to learn to chop/split and plane a log. Be sure to save some time to go swimming, try rock climbing, throw a tomahawk, test your skills at outdoor cooking and dig up a dinosaur.

How to participate:

  • Open Program- Follow your own path and explore the campgrounds
  • Pathways- Use one of our fun Outdoor Activity Pathways that will lead you throughout the camp while doing themed-activities. You can even fulfill advancement or training requirements on the way.
  • Advancement- Leaders, Parents, and Counselors can work with Scouts on specific Adventures or Merit Badges

Only $20 per person. Free for Adventure Card Members.

Saturday Program

Program is customized based on age of participants.

May 15th - 10am-4pm

June 5th - 10am-4pm

June 19th - 10am-4pm

For the cubs it is all fun and games! We will be doing all rank requirements that include physical fitness and games!

  • For the Tigers we will have Games Tigers Play and Tiger Tag.
  • For the Wolves-Running with the pack and Paws of Skill.
  • For the Bears-Furs, Feathers and Ferns and.
  • For the Webelos we will have Stronger Faster Higher and Sports!
  • We will also have the ax yard and shooting sports!

For Scouts BSA aged kids we will have rank requirement round up. Bring your handbook and any specific skills that you need to complete in order to move onto your next rank.

  • We will have knots, lashings, rope fusing and whipping,
  • Knife and ax safety
  • Basic first aid
  • Plant identification
  • Physical fitness
  • Orienteering
  • Animal identification
  • Boat and paddle identification
  • We will also have canoeing, hiking, shooting sports and mountain biking available. Bring your own helmet if you have one!

Summer Day Camp 2022

Registration is now open!

Boys and Girls

Campers will rock climb, learn shooting sports, build a campfire, do some crafting, learn wilderness survival skills and even do some outdoor cooking.

All our day camps are adhering to the revised State of Massachusetts guidelines for COVID-19 precautions. Some of the revisions include:

  • Reduced capacity at each camp
  • Face masks required for staff and campers
  • Equipment cleaned after use
  • Visitors not permitted
  • Group sizes less than 12, which exceeds the State requirement of <25
  • Children and staff monitored throughout the day for any signs of illness
